| Born with a congenital birth defect that resulted in the amputation of
his legs at age four, Ron Bachman was subsequently trained to walk on
full-leg prostheses. He struggled with the cumbersome devices at
school and in public for years, while at home and at play

comfortable and agile using his hands to get around.
